Through the REF grant I received 11 new compound microscopes to be used throughout my curriculum. So far this year, we have utilized the microscopes in both my 10th grade biology course, as well as my CIS Human Biology course (which is a college-level course run through CLC). It has been awesome to see the students be able to use a new tool that functions exactly as it is supposed to. Additionally, the new microscopes have some different features from our old set, allowing the students to be exposed to various different operational techniques. Microscopes are something that a lot of students truly enjoy, and it is so fun as a teacher to see kids get excited about science. I have microscope lessons planned for each of my courses (including my electives) and I look forward to being able to provide a successful, enjoyable microscope experience to all of my students thanks to the REF Grant!

Thank you!
